So, it’s Friday the 13th. Just another day in the diary for some, yet one for many that holds a vast wonder of ponderous and heavily superstitious feelings. In terms of the number 13 itself, the superstition here relates to the number 12 being regarded as possessing a sense of completeness. This is supported through the months in the year, hours of the clock, tribes of Israel, gods of Olympus, Apostles of Jesus, successors of Muhammed in Shia Islam and signs of the Zodiac.
Then, the spooky feeling behind the Friday aspect of today lies primarily with it being the day Jesus was crucified. Adding to these supernatural beliefs are the Italians who historically regard Friday as being an unlucky day. The writing of novels and production of films over the years has then consolidated all these aspects, indefinitely increasing this poor day’s unpopularity.
The fear of Friday the 13th has been called friggatriskaidekaphobia!! Absolutely Cuckoo, but we love it! Let this not be a day of mystery and hesitation. Overcome your fears and take control of this wonderfully exciting day. We have, and as always it’s another exciting day at Cuckoo Design.
Have a great weekend everyone!
