Recess Brand Strategy

Recess is the latest food and drink brand to be created as part of Valor Hospitality’s on-going growth strategy.

Cuckoo have been involved with supporting the food and drink proposition across Valor Hospitality’s expanding portfolio of hotels, most recently for their Hilton Garden Inn hotels.

Following the refurbishment of the Hilton Garden Inn dining space across 3 UK locations; Glasgow, Birmingham and Bristol, Cuckoo were tasked with developing the visual identity, brand proposition and communications strategy for a new food and drink brand to launches across all three locations this year.

 

This included the development of the name, logo and brand look and feel as well as all tangible assets such as menus, signage, external banners and point of sale. In addition to the offline activity, Cuckoo have developed banner ads, email campaigns and a social media presence.

Drawing upon the casual environment and open-plan layout, Recess was the chosen name as it gives the sense of taking a break. The muted and neutral colours as well as the fonts chosen are in-keeping with the relaxed theme. We aimed to develop a calm and contemporary look and feel.
